Evan Purr, Boom’s close friend, makes statement

December 5, 2025

Evan Purr is a close friend and collaborator of Alexey’s who had known him since 2014, years before “DaFuqBoom” existed as a channel. They worked together in SFM related projects and Evan had helped Alexey on assets shared on the Steam Workshop.

In early December 2025, shortly after Inviz broke their silence, Evan posted a lengthy public statement about what he had witnessed firsthand.

Evan Purr’s full statement

Evan described Alexey’s initial excitement when he first met with Invisible Narratives in summer 2023 as “genuine”. He was happy, locked in, and raising quality with each episode. According to Evan, that began to change within months. By early 2024, Evan had begun to notice Boom becoming notably unenthusiastic and unresponsive whenever Inviz or the movie came up in conversation. Evan felt like this topic would “ruin his entire mood“.

Over time these things deteriorated further. Evan described Alexey slipping into a noticeably “depressed” state, caused by “constant background things related to some business” rather than the creative process.

Evan recalls Alexey becoming angrier and more aggressive, with what felt like a build-up of unreleased emotion. He noted that the series itself seemed to reflect this, becoming more brutal and violent, as though it had become a way for Alexey to express what he couldn’t say directly.

Alexey told Evan that Skibidi Toilet had become a kind of therapy for him, something to cope with things that had “no visible end“. He also told Evan he intended to drop an “infonuke” about something really bad that was happening to him, and then never followed up on it.

“Starting with 79, Boom hinted that he might get replaced, and he had to make things fast or else “someone else will be cooking for everyone”. I assume business side of Skibidi Toilet was even down back then, and his puppeteers didn’t appreciate that 78 was taking so long to make”

One of the most important revelations in the statement regards episode 79. Evan described interference happening during production of parts 2 and 3. He said that part 2 only deviated slightly from Alexey’s original vision, while part 3 felt stripped down, with epic reveals and dramatic scenes that Boom had planned simply missing from the final version. Alexey had also hinted to Evan that he might get replaced, that he needed to work faster or “someone else will be cooking for everyone“. Evan interpreted this as direct pressure from Inviz on Alexey’s production pace.

Evan also recalled that after episode 78 Inviz urgently asked him to help package and transfer all of Alexey’s project files. He built a custom version of an SFM packaging tool to do this, was added as a co author to a shared Google Drive called “ALEXEY MASTER TRANSFER” by an employee of Inviz, and transferred everything. He was never paid and never had a contract. He said he did it as a favour, believing he was helping something meaningful.

After this, Evan recalls that Alexey’s communication became almost completely cut off. His socials became unreachable. When Evan managed to get through by phone and Skibidi Toilet came up, Alexey’s response was simply “I’m unable to comment on it.”

Evan noted that this was entirely out of character for someone who had always been outspoken and passionate about keeping his work independent from corporate interference. He stated plainly that he believed Boom was being held under strict contractual clauses with serious financial consequences, and that his influence on the series had been reduced to a small, non-deciding voice that others reinterpreted and diluted.

“I believe, with high confidence in my own assessment, that Boom is being held to strict clauses that force him to remain silent about the situation, likely under threat of serious financial repercussions, and that he is required to speak only positively about Inviz and their projects.“

On Emergence specifically, Evan was clear in that what was released had no resemblance to what Boom had described wanting for episode 80 and beyond.

“I believe he still contributes formally, but perhaps only superficially – his influence appearing reduced to a small, non-deciding voice among others in the company who reinterpret, reshape, and ultimately dilute ideas that once clearly reflected his unique vision.”

Evan’s statement was also posted in the official DaFuqBoom Discord server where it was apparently deleted by admins almost immediately, something ZacDoor and Ibio noted as further evidence, in their view, that the server may have been under Inviz’s influence.

Evan himself noted the deletion calmly, posting that his access to the shared drive had already been revoked and that all that was left for “the full combo” was to be banned from his friend’s server.

Also on December 5th Ibio shared information passed to him by an Inviz employee, which he described as an explanation for why Alexey had been replaced as animator. According to the employee, Alexey hadn’t fulfilled certain conditions. He had been given a directive but continued working on his own terms which had caused delays.

It was originally stated in the original community announcement that Alexey would still participate for “special” episodes as a director.

ZacDoor

ZacDoor returned after a short absence, addressing community concern that he had been silenced or sued. He confirmed neither was the case, the absence was due to burnout from sustained stress.

He referenced Evan Purr’s statement, noting that Inviz had deleted it from the official server, and pointed to it as an example of what he saw as Inviz silencing people speaking out. He called out their tactic of silence, waiting for the community to calm down and forget and said he was not giving up.

More BentPixels

Ibio’s videos began being demonetised by BentPixels, filed in the name of the “DaFuq!?Boom” channel. This even extended to videos that were set to private, which Ibio stated could not have been a revenue motivated claim, since private videos generate nothing. Ibio described it as retaliation for speaking out.

More leaks from the “Creator Alliance” call

A further clip from the November “6th Creator Alliance” call surfaced, covering a later portion that had not previously been heard.

In this smaller snippet, CEO Adam Goodman attributed the drop in views on Emergence to YouTube algorithm changes, unable to name the specific change, referencing “age gating or something“.

Iron Cameraman pushed back immediately, pointing out that retention had dropped because viewers didn’t like the new content, and that non Emergence videos were significantly outperforming it. Another attendee from Inviz cut the discussion off rather than allowing it to continue.

Goodman then stated his philosophy clearly: giving audiences what they “need” rather than what they “want“, subverting expectations rather than responding to feedback. When Iron asked whether he would be struck for continuing to post critical content, Goodman’s answer was not a no, but rather a request to “be helpful” and think about whether criticism served the franchise or just himself. He also noted to Iron Cameraman that his channel was “not our best engaged channel“, seemingly referring to those in their “Creator Alliance” MCN.

After the question of whether Alexey was genuinely involved in Emergence was raised, Goodman offered to set up a meeting with the Emergence animation team. The meeting never happened.
