IGN Article & Mainstream Attention

November 25, 2025

On November 25, a post by X user EliteBlueGuy summarising the situation went viral, bringing the story to a significantly wider audience than the core Skibidi Toilet community.

The post claimed Alexey had allegedly lost creative control of the channel and series, that he had been sent threats regarding his payments and upload schedule, and that he was under heavy restrictions which prevented him from speaking out about it.

The same day, entertainment news outlet Dexerto published a piece covering the situation, citing the circulating screenshots and the growing #BringBoomBack movement.

The article reported on messages attributed to Alexey describing his isolation from the film production process, financial stress, and lack of updates from Invisible Narratives. It noted that as of publication, neither Gerasimov nor Invisible Narratives had publicly commented.

Later, on April 4th 2026, Inviz would leak internal business DMs between Adam and Alexey, taking place on November 25, 2025, appearing to show Adam pressuring Alexey to speak to creators privately to correct the narrative, the same day the story was going mainstream.

The following day, IGN published an article titled “Let Alexey Take a Much Deserved Break“, including multiple statements from Invisible Narratives and a quote attributed to Alexey himself.

The article echoed the original community announcement from DaFuqBoom, that Alexey had stepped back from day to day production, taking on an executive producer role, and that Invisible Narratives held a first look deal on any future projects he developed outside YouTube.

The Inviz statement given to IGN framed the entire arrangement as Alexey’s initiative that he had “approached” the company, and had himself “offered to sell” the channel.

Most notably, the article included a quote attributed to Alexey himself asking fans to trust the process and expressing enthusiasm for the new structure.

However, a later statement from Inviz would inadvertently suggest that the statement attributed to Alexey may have come from pre-approved language created by Inviz.

The sale itself was voluntary, in the sense that Alexey did agree to it, as later confirmed by the May 2025 DMs Inviz later published in April 2026.

However, what the Inviz statement does not address is any of the surrounding context. These include his concerns about Invisible Narratives the day before he agreed to sign, the issues he privately described to creators, his claim that he was not being paid, and the broader context surrounding the sale.

Inviz’s Cleanup

The representation of the situation on Dexerto’s X account was revised in a way that appeared more favorable to Invisible Narratives after being contacted by Inviz themselves.

Evidence vs Narrative

Shortly after the IGN article containing a statement from Inviz, and one supposedly from Alexey himself, was released, fans quickly began to poke holes in the story being told.

Boom “sold” the channel

The IGN statement contains a central claim that at the time, appeared to be directly contradicted by a legal document Inviz themselves filed in court.
According to a court filing in the case of Invisible Narratives vs. Next Level Apps Technology (FZCO), paragraph 42 states that on October 12, 2023, Alexey assigned to Invisible Narratives all rights to the Skibidi Toilet series, including the exclusive right to operate and use the Boom Channel. This was not a channel sale that resulted from a later conversation about stepping back. Inviz already had exclusive operational control of the channel from October 2023 onward.

In later statements, Invisible would clarify that there were in fact two separate deals, a “revocable” deal in 2023, and a full sale more recently in 2025.

This same later statement from Inviz also caused fans to revisit the quote attributed to Alexey.

In the private business conversations Inviz themselves later leaked and published in their April 4, 2026 statement, Alexey references “pre-approved statements – created by Inviz itself – within our agreement, available for use whenever necessary 📣🌟”.

Those DMs are dated November 25, 2025, just one day before the IGN article. This timing raised questions among fans about whether the quote came from one of those pre-approved statements.

Alexey “approached” Inviz

The statement’s claim that Alexey “approached” Inviz about stepping back from animation is also directly contradicted by CEO Adam Goodman’s own words in the leaked Creator Alliance call.

Goodman stated: “I really explained to him that in order for him to really become the kind of animator, the kind of director, that I believe he has the possibility to continue to develop into, that he needs to bring on… a team and resources to help him with that.” It appeared to fans that this path was Goodman’s idea, not Alexey’s.

Further, Alexey’s own words, shared publicly on a Discord server in June 2025, paint a very different and concerning picture of his amount of involvement in projects.
